Summary
There is a wealth of research which demonstrates the beneficial effects of being listened to. Employee morale, motivation, productivity and creativity are all significantly boosted when organisations and their leaders are experienced as being good at listening to their staff. Within a clinical setting, listening to the concerns of staff and staff knowing that they will be heard, has additional importance because it directly affects the safety of patients.
