Guidance for MPTS tribunals (30 September 2025)

Summary

Guidance for members of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) on managing hearings for doctors, physician associates, and anaesthesia associates.

The guidance is to support MPTS tribunals in reaching fair and consistent decisions. It will also be useful for parties, witnesses and the public to understand how decision making is carried out and what the likely outcome is in different types of cases.

This guidance comes into effect on 24 November 2025.
