Summary
The Covid-19 pandemic resulted in more falls with harms (FWH) in hospitalised patients; it has also resulted in an increased number of patients staying in isolation and receiving fewer visitors. This study aimed to look at the relationship between patient falls and visiting restrictions. The results suggest a moderately strong association between hospitalised patient FWH risk and severe visitor restrictions. This association was reduced in phases where even minor allowances for visitation were made by health services.
