Great piece touching upon a number of areas, some of which are "hot topics". I think defining the use case for the introduction of AI into any process will be key for future developments. Just because we can "shoe horn" AI into processes - should we? AI use cases should well-defined and targeted towards solving specific problems. This approach will maximize the effectiveness and safety of AI applications in healthcare. In terms of AVT there are discussions around the unintended consequences of letting AI take over the process of documenting the interaction with the patient. There are concerns that AVT may influence the cognitive processes of clinicians during patient interactions. It's important to consider the potential downstream impacts on recall and future understanding of cases, ensuring that AI supports rather than hinders clinical decision-making. Adherence to clinical safety standards and regulations is essential for the safe implementation of AI products. Ensuring that AI systems comply with these standards will help mitigate risks and enhance patient safety. But this is an ongoing and evolving area, so sharing of best practices and adapting to new insights will be crucial for improving patient safety and health outcomes.
