    Recently, I had to undergo a hysteroscopy in France. This was booked and completed within three days, under GA and I was kept in the night afterwards in an incredibly clean hospital with attentive nurses. I had no pain on coming round. The surgeon came and spoke to me a couple of hours afterwards. I asked he performed it under LA, and he said no as this was barbaric and would be too painful for the patient to tolerate...
