A new blood test aimed at helping doctors diagnose colorectal cancer - the second-leading cause of U.S. cancer deaths - was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
SimpleScreen, made by the California biotech company Freenome, is designed for adults aged 45 and older who are at average risk for the life-threatening disease. It’s designed to detect DNA signals that are linked to colorectal cancer in this age group.
