A new BMJ Open study from Grimmond et al. compared global warming potential of hospitals converting from single-use sharps containers to reusable sharps containers.
The study reveals that, on average, the 40 NHS trusts studied when converting from single use to reusable sharps containers reduced their sharps waste stream carbon footprint by 84%.
