You are invited to the Green Nursing Showcase 2025 – a national celebration of nurse-led innovation in sustainable healthcare.

On 20 October 2025, six nursing teams from across the UK will present their projects designed to reduce carbon emissions, improve patient care, and address health inequalities. This event marks the culmination of the Green Nursing Challenge 2025, a programme fully funded by Micro-Tech UK, and led by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare in partnership with the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing and the Foundation of Nursing Studies.

  • Learn from practical, nurse-led solutions driving healthcare sustainability.
  • Connect with professionals working to make care both greener and more equitable.
  • Celebrate the leadership and creativity of nursing teams across the UK.

Charlotte McArdle, Global Nurse Consultant and Vice Dean FFRCSI FQNI Hon Prof UU Vice Chair RCNF will be the keynote speaker.

At the event, each of the selected teams will present their Sustainable Quality Improvement (SusQI) projects to a panel of expert judges. Their projects will focus on priority areas identified through collaboration with challenge partners, carbon footprinting analysis, and discussions with people with lived experience. The aim of these projects is to reduce environmental harm and address health inequalities in nursing services. Teams presented their projects to a judging panel including:
