About me
I have been part of a Trust within the NHS for almost 25 years. Although I do not have a clinical background, I have gained a wealth of knowledge around systems, processes, culture and more recently around patient safety incidents. My main area of expertise is around Quality Improvement but more recently, with the launch of PSIRF, this has now become entwined with Patient Safety. Considering human factors within an incident investigation, gives us the opportunity to develop a culture in which we learn as an organisation rather than blame individuals for mistakes. I am passionate about the systems approach to healthcare and helping teams put learning opportunities into practical quality improvement ideas to mitigate risk.
Out of work I have three adult children, 1 new granddaughter and a faithful cocker spaniel. They all keep me busy !!
