I am a representative of Quinolone Toxicity Support UK which I co-founded 5 years ago after my husband was seriously affected by a fluoroquinolone antibiotic (ciprofloxacin). Despite fluoroquinolones being the subject of a European (EMA) review and their second of only two public hearings, the dangers of this class of antibiotic are generally dismissed by the medical profession leaving sufferers of long term and agonising side effects to fend for themselves. The twin aims of our group are to support those affected and to raise awareness amongst HCPs at all levels.
