About me
Dr Mark Ratnarajah is the Clinical Director of Special Operations at Sword
Intelligence, a division of the global AI care leader Sword Health. In this role, he leads
a dedicated UK-based senior leadership team to accelerate engagement with the NHS
and address critical operational challenges. His work focuses on applying responsible,
large-scale AI to transform care coordination, triage, and patient outreach, specifically
targeting the reduction of NHS waiting lists and the unlocking of hidden clinical
capacity.
Previously, Mark served for over eight years as the Managing Director (UK) of C2-Ai,
a smart data analytics company providing predictive insights and risk triage tools to the
NHS and international healthcare providers. Under his leadership, C2-Ai supported
elective recovery and prehabilitation programmes by helping clinical teams plan care
pathways more effectively to improve patient safety and outcomes.
Mark has spent over three decades in clinical practice and international healthcare as
a Paediatrician, including service as a "Flying Doctor" in New Zealand and Australia.
For the last decade, he has operated at the intersection of medicine and digital
transformation, combining his clinical expertise with his role as an entrepreneur and
health tech leader.
His extensive background includes serving as a Principal Investor in Private Equity
at Nomura International, where he managed healthcare services investments, and as
Head of Healthcare for Parabis Group, managing national physical and mental health
rehabilitation services. He was also the founding CEO of the College of Medicine and
the co-founder of FindMeHealth, the UK’s first private healthcare comparison site.
Mark holds an MBA from the London Business School, a medical degree from
Oxford University, and an undergraduate degree in experimental pathology from
London University.
