About me
As Head of Simulation Education and Director of SUSIM, I provide strategic leadership across five key pillars: education; research and scholarship; Health Board partnerships, including patient safety and quality improvement initiatives; commercial and industry engagement; and charitable and community projects.
My academic leadership responsibilities include supervising PhD, master’s and fellowship students across medicine, health and life sciences. I also bring extensive international experience in leading the development of simulation centres, educational programmes and hospital-based initiatives, including large-scale translational simulation and quality improvement projects across the Middle East, Australia and Africa.
My clinical background is in midwifery and clinical leadership. Since 1994, I have worked in tertiary labour and delivery services in the UK and internationally. This extensive frontline, operational and strategic leadership experience continues to inform my work in simulation-based education, healthcare improvement and patient safety.
