Trusts have been told to report on 25 maternity asks by next month as part of the service’s response to two damning reviews.
NHS England told providers delivery of NHS England’s 10-point plan for maternity, issued shortly after Baroness Valerie Amos’ national investigation and Donna Ockenden’s Nottingham review, should be an “immediate priority”.
A letter to trust leaders on Wednesday, from chief nursing officer Duncan Burton and chief medical officer Frankie Swords, sets out a list of “urgent actions” they must take ahead of a national action plan due in December.
