Summary
The Care Quality Commission's (CQC) new strategy strengthens its commitment to deliver their purpose: to ensure health and care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and to encourage those services to improve.
Content
CQC's purpose and their role as a regulator won’t change – but how it works will be different. CQC has set out their ambitions under four themes:
- People and communities.
- Smarter regulation.
- Safety through learning.
- Accelerating improvement.
Running through each theme are two core ambitions:
- Assessing local systems.
- Tackling inequalities in health and care.
