Summary
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) a critical global health threat that undermines the safety of routine medical procedures and reverses many advancements in modern medicine by making antimicrobials ineffective to treat infections. Inappropriate use of antimicrobials is a major driver of AMR.
This Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS) report describes global progress in antimicrobial use surveillance and antibiotic use in 2022, reported by 60 countries.
