From ambition to impact: delivering the future of cancer care

 until

Event details

Earlier in the summer the government released its 10 Year Health Plan, outlining bold ambitions that will have an impact on cancer care. The plan is clear on its vision for neighbourhood health services and putting technology and innovation at the forefront of care delivery – so what does this mean for people living with cancer? How can ambition now turn into action?

The forthcoming cancer plan will need to address these important questions and build on the vision outlined in the 10-year plan, including how to achieve equitable access to innovative medicines, who will be accountable for delivering the plan, and how success will be measured. With changes planned at all levels – from integration of functions across the national bodies to the refocused role of integrated care boards – the cancer plan is an opportunity to provide further direction on how to navigate what all of this means and how successful change can happen.

Against this backdrop, this panel discussion will bring together senior leaders to discuss:

  • what does a neighbourhood health service mean for people in the cancer community?
  • with a current focus on technology, how can we ensure equitable access and unwarranted variation of care?
  • will changes across national policy help to improve patient pathways and outcomes?
