Preparing nurses for their roles as clinical faculty or student nurse preceptors supports patient safety

 until

Event details

Nurses are often called upon to be a preceptor to undergraduate nursing students—even when they are new to practice themselves or have little experience as clinical educators. While clinical expertise is essential, it doesn’t automatically translate into effective teaching. Most nurses receive little to no formal preparation in educational theory; communication techniques; legal responsibilities; or how to navigate student diversity in age, culture, and learning style.

Join Anna C. Fry, MPH, BSN, RN, clinical nurse educator at National Nurse-Led Care Consortium, and Amy H. Ricords, MEd, BSN, RN, vice president of Customer Experience at Ronco Technology Solutions Inc. and director of nursing professional advancement at Pennsylvania Nursing Workforce Coalition, for a webinar titled “Preparing Nurses for their Roles As Clinical Faculty or Student Nurse Preceptors Supports Patient Safety.”

In this session, you’ll learn where to find education designed to elevate clinical faculty and preceptor development and discover three key opportunities in clinical educator practice that promote patient safety.
