APIC staffing calculator

This staffing calculator has been developed by the US Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). The tool is in beta version and uses input from individual healthcare facilities to provide recommendations to assist with infection prevention staffing decisions. There are three separate calculators: Acute care hospital calculator Long-term care calculator Ambulatory clinic calculator As the tool is currently in development, the data collected from participating organisations will be used to update the calculators and provide the most accurate staffing recommendations.- Posted

Medical clinics are using fake Google reviews to boost their profiles online, a BBC investigation has found. Consumer groups say fake reviews are a "significant and persistent problem" and have called on internet firms to do more to remove them and fine companies. Content ArticleClare Rayner is a retired occupational health doctor who caught Covid-19 in March 2020. Clare has since worked with medical colleagues to raise awareness of their concerns associated with prolonged symptoms, also referred to as Long Covid. They have also contributed to the NHS England (NHSE) Long Covid Taskforce as patient/patient group representatives. One year on from her initial infection, Clare draws on personal and professional insight to explain why people living with Long Covid continue to feel let down, abandoned and frightened.

I would like to share with you my experience of an injury I sustained when working as an agency nurse doing bank shifts in a private hospital and highlight to colleagues the importance of knowing your entitlements when working for an Agency. Please make sure you are adequately covered for injury. -
Content ArticleThis survey has been designed by the Long Covid Support Group to collate information on the patient experience of Long COVID clinics in England (also referred to as Assessment Centres), announced on December 18th, 2020. Data collected will be anonymised and analysed to produce a report to inform medical professionals, health organisations and interested stakeholder groups such as NHSE, Royal Colleges and research bodies. This survey is initially open for a 4 week period, with results expected to be published in Spring 2021.
