Summary
The Suicide Prevention National Transformation Programme aims to reduce the number of deaths by suicide in England by 10% by 2020/21.
NHS England are investing funding in 37 local areas to establish or develop their multi-agency suicide prevention action plans to reduce suicide and self-harm. These plans cover three of the main priority areas identified in the National Suicide Prevention Strategy:
- Reducing risk in men.
- Prevention and response to self-harm.
- Improving acute mental health care.
