Summary
The approach to resolution of adverse events in hospital and healthcare organisations has remained subpar for decades and open and honest communication are often compromised in favor of litigation. Models like CANDOR have been recognised as essential to transparency, person-centeredness, and healthcare quality and safety. The impactful implementation of CANDOR into organisational culture requires commitment, prioritization, involvement from all, and event analysis for continuous improvement.
