Summary
The NHS Assembly is a national forum that regularly brings together a range of stakeholders from across the health and care system to advise the NHS England leadership as a “guiding coalition” in support of the implementation of the NHS Long Term Plan. The Assembly is formed of up to fifty individuals, drawn from national and frontline clinical leaders, public, carer and patient voices, staff representatives, health and care system leaders and voluntary, community and social enterprise sector leaders.
NHS England is inviting applications to become Patient, Carer and Public Voice members of the NHS Assembly. It is looking to recruit a small number of individuals committed to bringing their experience, knowledge, perspective and challenge into the NHS Assembly’s work, to join an existing small group of Patient, Carer and Public Voice members.
- The role provides and opportunity for patients to bring their experience of partnership work to improve services for patients or carers, in order to advise leaders at the highest level of decision making in the NHS.
- It is a high-profile, strategic and accountable role for which significant experience and specific skills are required. This includes as a minimum a competent and developing knowledge and understanding and interest in healthcare issues, the NHS in England, and the wider environment in which it operates.
- Applicants should have a demonstrable commitment to the values of the NHS, have experience of operating at a regional, local or national level or as part of a wider network, and be prepared to work collaboratively with other NHS Assembly members.
These roles are ‘Role 4’ positions meaning you can claim involvement fees in line with the NHS England PPV Partner Expenses and Involvement Payments Policy.
