What is Insomnia in children?

A child with insomnia has difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or is simply not well rested after a normal amount of sleep. Children who suffer from childhood insomnia can also complain of being sleepy during the daytime. In addition to being sleepy during the day, symptoms of childhood insomnia can include
  • Effortfulness
  • Reduced attention span
  • Sad mood
  • Restlessness
  • Irritation
  • Trouble remembering
  • mood changes
