DESCRIPTION:\n	Overview\n\n\n\n	Use thematic analysis to identify cross-
cutting safety themes and support PSIRF learning and improvement.\n\n\n\n
Thematic analysis for patient safety learning\n\n\n\n	Organisations increa
singly need to learn not only from individual incidents\, but from the wid
er patterns that emerge across complaints\, claims\, risks\, audits\, and
other sources of safety intelligence. This specialist course provides a pr
actical introduction to thematic analysis for patient safety learning\, h
elping teams identify recurring themes\, common contributory factors\, and
system-level risks across multiple data sources.\n\n\n\n	The course from
Promethean Human Designs is designed for organisations that want to str
engthen how they use safety information to support learning\, improvement\
, and decision-making. Rather than treating incidents in isolation\, parti
cipants will explore how to bring together dispersed intelligence and turn
it into useful insight that can inform PSIRF planning\, governance discu
	ssions\, service redesign\, and proactive improvement priorities.\n\n\n\n
This is a practical and applied course. Participants will be introduced to
structured approaches for reviewing data\, identifying themes and subthem
	es\, coding information\, distinguishing meaningful signals from noise\, a
nd presenting thematic findings in a way that supports action.\n\n\n\n	Whe
ther your team is carrying out cross-cutting reviews\, preparing material
for governance meetings\, or looking to strengthen organisational learning
from safety data\, this course will provide useful methods and frameworks
to support more strategic patient safety work.\n\n\n\n	Why this course ma
tters\n\n\n\n	Healthcare organisations are under increasing pressure to ma
ke better use of the safety information they already hold. Incidents\, com
	plaints\, claims\, risks\, audits\, and other data sources often contain i
mportant patterns — but these can be missed if information is reviewed i
n isolation.\n\n\n\n	This course helps teams:\n\n\n\n	\n improve the qual
ity of thematic reviews\n	\n	\n identify recurring risks and contributory
	 factors\n	\n	\n generate stronger cross-cutting learning\n	\n	\n suppor
t more strategic patient safety discussions\n	\n	\n strengthen how safety
intelligence informs improvement priorities\n	\n	\n By developing a more
structured approach to thematic analysis\, organisations can move towards
	 more proactive\, system-focused patient safety learning.\n	\n\n\n\n	Inten
ded audience\n\n\n\n	This course is suitable for:\n\n\n\n	\n patient safe
	ty specialists\n	\n	\n governance and risk teams\n	\n	\n quality improve
	ment leads\n	\n	\n divisional governance staff\n	\n	\n service managers\
	n	\n	\n clinical leaders involved in learning from safety information\n	\
n	\n staff responsible for reviewing or synthesising incidents\, complain
ts\, claims\, risks\, or related intelligence across departments or servic
es\n	\n\n\n\n	You do not need to be a qualitative research specialist to a
ttend. The course is designed to be practical\, accessible\, and directly
relevant to organisational safety work.\n\n\n\n	What the course covers\n\n
\n\n	Participants will explore:\n\n\n\n	\n what thematic analysis is and
	when to use it\n	\n	\n moving from single-event learning to cross-cutting
	 insight\n	\n	\n working with incidents\, complaints\, risks\, audits\, c
	laims\, and other data sources\n	\n	\n identifying themes\, subthemes\, a
nd recurring contributory factors\n	\n	\n using structured approaches to
	coding and synthesis\n	\n	\n distinguishing signal from noise\n	\n	\n pr
esenting thematic findings in ways that support decision-making\n	\n	\n l
inking thematic learning to PSIRF\, governance\, and improvement prioritie
s\n	\n\n\n\n	Learning outcomes\n\n\n\n	By the end of the course\, particip
ants will be able to:\n\n\n\n	\n describe the purpose and value of themat
ic analysis in patient safety work\n	\n	\n use a structured approach to i
dentify patterns across multiple sources of information\n	\n	\n develop c
learer thematic findings that support organisational learning\n	\n	\n tra
nslate themes into improvement priorities\, action planning\, and governan
ce discussion\n	\n	\n contribute to more strategic and proactive approach
es to patient safety learning\n	\n\n\n\n	Tailoring and follow-up\n\n\n\n	T
he course can be tailored to local governance structures\, incident themes
\, or improvement priorities. Optional follow-up support can also be provi
	ded\, including:\n\n\n\n	\n support with live thematic reviews\n	\n	\n d
evelopment or refinement of coding frameworks\n	\n	\n facilitated interpr
etation sessions for safety teams\n	\n	\n help translating findings into
	governance and improvement actions\n	\n\n\n\n	Register\n\n
