SUMMARY:Neighbourhood and integrated care summit: putting people at
the heart of health and care

DESCRIPTION:\n	Neighbourhood is the big buzzword at the moment in the he
alth and care system. This is driven largely by the government’s vision
of creating a ‘Neighbourhood Health Service’ - outlined in the 10 Yea
r Health Plan\, aiming to help people to live well in their local areas an
d reduce the need for care delivered in hospitals. \n\n\n\n	Despite this
newfound enthusiasm for neighbourhoods\, neighbourhood health has actuall
y existed long before the current use of it\, often referred to as integra
ted care or place-based working. Within the context of potentially changi
ng national policies and funding cuts to the very structures that can help
enable neighbourhood health how can the enthusiasm for neighbourhoods mat
ch up to the reality on the ground?  \n\n\n\n	This King's Fund event will
tackle the conceptual ambiguity around neighbourhood health with a peo
ple-first\, community-led focus that enables the NHS\, the voluntary sect
or\, other public services and communities to work together as equal partn
ers to keep people happy and healthy where they live.\n\n\n\n	Join for int
eractive workshops\, panel debates\, keynote talks and case studies from p
eople already making it work. Let’s shift the dial on improving populati
on health and creating a neighbourhood health service that works for us al
	l.  \n\n\n\n	Sessions will explore: \n\n\n\n	\n		 what is a people-fi
rst approach to neighbourhood health and why it matters\n	\n	\n examples
of innovative and creative approaches to neighbourhood working that put
the needs of people first\n	\n	\n overcoming barriers to true neighbourho
od health\, including habits and behaviours\, and expectations from nation
	al bodies\n	\n	\n international approaches to neighbourhood – what’s
worked and what hasn’t\n	\n	\n why thinking beyond traditional transa
ctional contracts and breaking organisational siloes is key to enabling p
	eople-first neighbourhood health.\n	\n\n\n\n	Register\n\n
