DESCRIPTION:\n	Confidentiality is frequently seen as a key barrier to cl
	inicians working effectively with the family and friends of people experie
	ncing a mental health crisis. This half day interactive course examines mi
	sconceptions about confidentiality and information sharing and offers sugg
	estions for ways to develop your practice to offer more support and inform
	ation to family and friends carers so that they are more confident about w
	hat they can reasonably do to keep their family member safe.\n\n\n\n	We us
	e the term family carers to mean anyone who is significant to the patient\
	, including biological and non biological family and friends who may or ma
	y not live in the same household or even the same country.\n\n\n\n	Who sho
	uld attend?\n\n\n\n	This course is suitable for anyone working in Health a
	nd Social Care whose work brings them into direct contact with someone exp
	eriencing a mental health crisis. This includes psychiatrists\, nurses\, E
	D service leads\, social workers\, occupational therapists who have all be
	nefitted from this training.\n\n\n\n	Participants will:\n\n\n\n	\n		Reflec
	t on how concerns about patient confidentiality impact on their relationsh
	ips with patients and with family carers\n	\n	\n		Consider ways and proces
	ses to negotiate confidentiality concerns with patients\n	\n	\n		Reflect o

	confidentiality\n	\n	\n		Reflect on a variety of case studies and scenario
	s that explore the complex issues around confidentiality\n	\n	\n		Explore 
	the complexity of family relationships and how these impact on who may and
