DESCRIPTION:\n	The economic power of multi-national corporations and ind
ustries influences decision-making by governments and individuals in ways
that have potentially huge impacts on health. WHO estimates that 20–25%
of all deaths in the European region are attributable to just four industr
ies: tobacco\, alcohol\, processed food and fossil fuels. It is not only t
he products these industries manufacture\, promote and sell\, but also the
business models\, including marketing and engagement with health professi
onals\, that can negatively impact peoples’ health. \n\n\n\n	The event
will focus on the persistent issue of conflicts of interest among health
professionals\, their representative associations and health systems creat
ed by industry\, from early career engagement and reciprocity to overt pol
itical lobbying affecting nutrition and health.\n\n\n\n	Health professiona
ls\, researchers and representatives of institutions and organisations wit
h responsibility for public health will share experiences and insights\, a
nd explore mechanisms to safeguard health professionals\, the general pub
lic and public policy/practices from commercially driven conflicts of inte
	rest.\n\n\n\n	Register\n\n
