DESCRIPTION:\n\n	Nurses in the early twentieth century were told to prac
tice “unquestioning loyalty and obedience” to their “superior offi
cers” and the hospitals they worked in.\n\n\n\n	But what happened to tho
se nurses who raised concerns about such things as safety\, conditions or
staffing? An expert panel explores landmark events in the history of whist
leblowing\, from early trade unions to the Francis Report. The event will
bring us up to date with a look at recent research being undertaken at Car
diff University and RCN work on safe staffing policy.\n\n\n\n	Chaired by
Professor Ruth Harris (Professor of Health Care for Older Adults\, Florenc
e Nightingale Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery\, King’s College London.
Chair of the RCN Research Society).\n\n\n\n	Further information\n\n
