DESCRIPTION:\n	This webinar looks at a project by the Patients' Associat
	ion and the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme that focuses on 
	elective surgical hubs. These are surgical centres on existing hospital si
	tes\, separated from emergency services\, which means the facilities can b
	e kept free for patients waiting for planned operations\, reducing the ris
	k of short-notice cancellations.\n\n\n\n	They can help reduce waiting time
	s for some patients. They tend to specialise in uncomplicated surgical pro
	cedures\, with particular emphasis on ophthalmology\, general surgery\, tr
	auma and orthopaedics\, gynaecology\, ear nose and throat and urology.\n\n
