DESCRIPTION:\n	This September\, join the global patient safety community
	 for the annual World Patient Safety Day (WPSD)\, organised by the World 
	Health Organization. This year’s theme is ‘Engaging patients for patie
	nt safety’\, in recognition of the crucial role patients\, families and 
	caregivers play in the safety of healthcare.\n\n\n\n	The Institute of Glo
	bal Health Innovation (IGHI) at Imperial College London and Imperial Col
	lege Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) are excited to host a virtual event to c
	elebrate and elevate patient and family voices for patient safety.\n\n\n\n
		Featuring expert patient advocates\, researchers and healthcare professio
	nals\, it will discuss how patients and families can be engaged at all sta
	ges of care. Ways to reduce inequalities and empower underserved communiti
	es\, both nationally and globally\, will be explored.\n\n\n\n	It hopes to 
	facilitate impactful and insightful conversations about how key stakeholde
	rs can work together to empower patients with becoming advocates for their
	 own safety to improve outcomes.\n\n\n\n	This event has been co-designed w
	ith valuable input from patient representatives from the NIHR North West 
	London Patient Safety Research Collaboration’s Research Partners Group a
	nd the ICHT’s Patient Safety Partners\, acknowledging the value of the p
	atient perspective.\n\n\n\n	What to expect:\n\n\n\n	\n		Keynote speeches i
	ncluding from Professor the Lord Ara Darzi\, Co-Director of the IGHI\, Hen
	rietta Hughes\, Patient Safety Commisioner for England\, and Rosie Bartel\
	, patient advocate and educator\n	\n	\n		Panel session on how clinicians\,
	 patients and carers can work together to support patients and their famil
