DESCRIPTION:\n	This conference\, organised by the Policy Forum for Irela
	nd\, will assess priorities and next steps for addressing the impact of l
	ong COVID in Ireland.\n\n\n\n	\n\n	Areas for discussion include developing
	 and implementing research into long COVID\, the state of specialised serv
	ices in Ireland\, and the implementation and development of the Model of C
	are\, which recommended the development of eight post-acute and six long C
	OVID clinics.\n\n\n\n	\n\n	It will be a timely opportunity to discuss Irel
	and’s strategy for tackling long COVID following analysis from Denis Nau
	ghten TD - who is part-chairing this conference - which suggests that almo
	st 340\,000 people in Ireland could have been affected by long COVID. It a
	lso follows a motion forwarded by a regional group of TDs calling for swif
	ter action to support those with long COVID\, which secured unanimous Dái
	l Éireann support.\n\n\n\n	\n\n	With the HSE now implementing the Model o
	f Care for long COVID\, and developing an epidemiological survey to gauge 
	long COVID numbers in Ireland\, delegates will assess the development of t
	he model\, workforce and recruitment priorities\, and next steps for resea
	rch and data.\n\n\n\n	\n\n	We are pleased to be able to include keynote se
	ssions with Dr Siobhán Ní Bhriain\, Consultant Psychiatrist &amp\; Natio
	nal Clinical Director\, Integrated Care\, HSE\; and Professor John Lambert
	\, Consultant in Infectious Diseases and Genitourinary Medicine\, Mater Mi
	sericordiae University Hospital\; and Associate Professor\, UCD School of 
	Medicine.\n\n	Overall\, sessions in the agenda will look at:\n\n\n\n	\n		t
	he interim model of care: priorities for developing and creating a central
	ised care hub to provide support\n	\n	\n		long COVID clinics: next steps f
	or implementation - providing effective staffing and funding - tackling ba
	cklogs in access to long COVID clinics and relieving pressures on GP waiti
	ng lists\n	\n	\n		patients: assessing and providing the support needed by 
	those with long COVID and identifying those most at risk - options for wor
	kplace support and assisting those out of work to return quickly\n	\n	\n		
	research: building on data from current long COVID and post-acute COVID cl
	inics to inform future strategies - implementing effective surveillance to
	 understand\, scale and respond to the issues \n	\n	\n		policy coordinati
	on: integrating responses with Sláintecare reforms and waiting list strat
